Its only a watch -- warnings are the ones to get excited about!

Growing up in West Texas, we knew a family who made fudge every time it rained. It was their 'thing'.
Maybe you need to find something fun that you only do when it storms?

You may have a point melvalena now we just watch my senior dog shake herself like a maracha.( Poor dog she just freaks). Mostly I make snacks and cook for the kids. The power goes out a lot so I'd have to think of something that didn't take electricity. It's calmed for a bit until tonight then we'll be in another watch. Last time there was a watch a tornado(small) touched down and no there was no warning on the radio! I gotta get a weather radio this weekend.PJ

We just had it pass through here. Usually these things split and go around us. Not this time.

    What a thrill!! :)

I did gather my purse, keys, cell phone and put them in the bathroom. Told DD that if anything happened we'd pull the mattress of grandson's bed and drag it in there with us. She put her stuff and coats in there just in case.

Now all we have is rain...more rain. As soon as it lets up I'll go check the side of the house we can't see from inside. That's the side the storm came in from. I suspect its a mess out there and I won't be surprised if our hot tub canopy is in shreds. Most of my brugs are out there. :(
From the parts we can see, there are tree limbs everywhere. Pots knocked over, and tables blown around.

DD's car has a big tree limb caught on the top of it. (on the luggage rack) Wonder what kind of damage that has done?

I hope everyone else makes out ok!

Oh no Melvalena! I hope it's better than you fear. Ours seemed a bit tame...until tonight they say. I hear these winds are really tearing stuff up! PJ

It was bad.. but thrilling at the same time.
    We like storms.:)

I'm used to sitting them out inside tents at the lake.
Yes.. even these kinds, we just hunker down.

I think we're going to need a new roof, wind damage. Our insurance will be called first thing when Hubby gets back in town. The hot tub canopy is history. :( But all my brugs are fine. Lost a few rose branches, but they'll survive.

I hope everyone else makes it through with little to no real damage.

    Nah.... today I'm wearing blue!

All this excitement has this Grandma wore out!

I'm ready to put pjs on and crawl into bed listening to the storm rumble on where ever it is that its going.

Waiting for a friend of mine to call back. She's been out driving in this. (part of her job) She' calls em to check the radar for her when it gets like this. Last I talked with her (almost 3 hours ago) I told her to hunker down somewhere. She told me she was gonna go to Groesbeck...I'm sure she's somewhere on the road and got caught up in it. When she's out in the boonies her cell doesn't always work. :(

I really hope your friend is OK. That's gotta be nerve wracking! There is just no darn way I'd weather even a whimpy storm in a tent. I'm glad your brugs made it! I hope you have an easy time with insurance too. PJ

Gosh, Mel, we don't live that far apart, and I had very little wind - just rain. Strange weather -- very strange.
I hope everyone got through this with very little damage.

We have a cat who has a bunker in the center of the house under a sturdy table with drawers and cabinets. If it rains, that is where you will find him, tucked up under one of the drawers. I once had a cat who had to go OUTSIDE every time it stormed. ?!?

Well, in Allen we had lots of trees down. Our electricity was off until around 4:30 this morning. The city is going around picking up all the branches and downed trees. It will take them a few weeks to get it all, but it is nice the citizens don't have to haul it themselves. We just put the branches along the curb next to the street and they will eventually pick them up. I was in a school gym when it hit and it sounded like the roof was going to come off.

The sirens went off, but we just had some wind and lots of rain. TV showed circular motion in Carrollton, but not in Lewisville.

Will have to survey the roof for damage, when I get home tonight, but I think we are ok.
