Exactly. As usual, our legislators are trying to fix something they think is broken with something that is even more broken. (ala the immigration bill)

They have "We-have-to-do-something-even-if-it's-stupid-itus"

It really helps to send regular e-mails/faxes and phone calls to these rudderless elected officials.

The lightbulbs they are thinking of forcing upon us are only produced in China. Talk about outsourcing - of course the bulbs we have now may be made there. I think we should all hold onto our pants, and wait for the LED to become higher wattage. There isn't any "throw away" problem there. And the bulbs do not put off heat. The corkscrew bulbs put off more heat than you think. I know this because I have them on my desklamp - I can barely see with two of these bulbs on my desk.

Heh, I can barely see anything under any kind of bulb, but that's just worn out body parts, which have been replaced, only to suffer from associated parts still wearing out.
