I was so disappointed - two weeks ago when I was in east Texas my Methley plum was loaded with fruit. Then when I got here last week every last plum had been "harvested" by some little critter (there were no fruit on the ground). I had one sweet plum from my other tree (can't remember the variety now - maybe Morris?), but the peaches are gone and whatever is getting them is big enough to break the branches they're on.

I love fresh figs and can stand in the yard and eat them warm off the tree. I also like the non-astringent persimmons that I have (fuyu and coffee cake).

I've been nibbling on raspberries that aren't quite ripe but have good flavor. Also the cherrie tomatoes in my garden are there just for snacking.

That sounds like a two-legged fruit gatherer, to me.

I don't think so. That tree is inside my fence (not visible from the road) and they weren't quite ripe yet. All the ones that had fallen to the ground earlier were gone too... at least they cleaned up for me!

I have had some really great fruit this year also and we have peaches, plums and figs on our trees, lol

The peaches are really good! Most years we don't get any...the critters always knock them down, chew on them or take them before they're even anywhere near being ripe. But this year is good...many peaches and the critters haven't bothered them too much. Yum! Maybe it helps that I feed the birds now...the squirrels help themselves at the one feeder they can get to. Lots of figs, but that got a late start and only a few ripened so far. Blackberries have done very well this year also.
