Oh! The Humiliation! The Shame!

During the heat wave last summer, I moved a wash tub with a nice Archduke Charles rose into a shadier location so it wouldn't burn completely up.

& I forgot about it.

The other day, when I was showing a neighbor & her friend around the garden, the friend suddenly exclaimed, pointing at my poor water-soaked, leafless rose, "Well, would you look at that! I haven't seen one of those in years! A pencil plant!"

so I dragged the poor thing into the sun, & I'm happy to say it's already putting on some leaves.

What was *your* most embarrassing moment in the garden?

For those who weren't around a looong time ago when I first posted it, here's the "new bulbs" story:

I was driving along on a miserable, cold, rotten day, just the latest in a long series of miserable, cold, rotten days.

My feet were numb, my nose was running.

I was in a bleak mood, cynically wondering whether there really was such a thing as "Spring" or whether my brain had just made it up to force me to keep going, when I saw this sign:

"We Have New Bulbs"

Wooooo Hooooo.

I got all excited!

My heart was pumpin', my face was smilin'!

I turned that car around & zoomed back & discovered...

it was a tanning salon.

Well, after awhile I noticed it's easy to loose track of all the danged plants....LOL!PJ

LOL Sylvia both stories are good.
Only thing I can think of is that I forget name of plants and someone wants to know the name. I feel like a dummy but my mind just goes totally blank or the name can be in my head but for the life of me I cannot get my mouth and brain to work together.

LOL :) your right my mind does think way ahead of myself, it even shows up in my writting :/ what can I say that just be me.
