We're going to Wimberley, TX and would like to know a good place to eat, either a nearby town or in Wimberley.

Only went there once. Can't remember what was there. There are plenty of places in San Marcos, though.

There are some places to eat, but they seemed like the kind of greasy, get 'em in, get 'em out! type of places. WE ate our best meals at the house we rented.

Why don't you call or email the chamber of commerce? They should be able to help you.

I just checked TripAdvisor, and the restaurants listed for Wimberly don't sound very appetizing. The only one that got positive reviews was a B&B.
Don't bother with the Chamber--they are paid to be boosters!
San Marcos sounds like a good alternative.

Carol, Wimberley was 14 miles down the road from our old house and at that time there were places to eat that were great but now I don't think so
In San Marcos we seem to always end up at the River Pub just because we don't eat burgers much and they used to have a good burger (probably still do) and they are right on the river
Palmers is good and I like the courtyard. They had good seafood and the kids love every pasta dish they have ordered
The are plenty restaurants around the square and the river

You could do what DS does and when he gets to a town he looks to see where the cars are all at during meal times, lol
Hope y'all have tons of fun
Here is there link

Here is a link that might be useful: Palmers

Thanks for the help. We might try Palmers. That sounds good.
Last year we stopped at Georgetown and went into an old barbershop and ask them which was the best place to eat. They all told us about a tearoom on the square and it ended up being a wonderful place to eat.
