Happy Dance!

The neighbors are finally gone! (see beds in fall in bermuda thread).

I mowed, pruned and watered this morning. For the first time in ages I haven't had to look over my shoulder or make sure I was facing the street. On Wednesday I'm going to start on the bed I wanted to put in along the walkway. It's nice to be able to go in the front yard without having to worry about a meth dealer/rapist yelling at you, giving you the finger or having their friends fight on the lawn or try to run each other over.

Good riddance.

I'm sorry you had yukky neighbors, especially with you being a new Txan, enjoy your time in the dirt, and along with carrie751, I hope you get some great new ones. CJ

I thought my former neighbors were bad - heard the husband threaten to shoot his wife while hauling lawn equipment between the houses once. I also didn't like the fact that my oldest son was afraid to go over there to play with their son. Something happened - don't know what and he won't tell me, but he just stopped going over there and I could not get him to tell me what went on. So, although these are different situations, I know how you feel to have a bad neighbor move. We have new neighbors in that house now who have been there for about 4-5 months and they are very friendly. It is nice to be able to have a neighbor to visit with when we're out in the front yard. I know you'll get a good neighbor too.

It is a great feeling to have them gone!
The landlord is over there now with a big trailer, besides the mattresses that have been on the front lawn for a week I guess they left more junk behind.

I'm tempted to run over there and see the state of the house, last year he parked his motorcycle in the living room.

If I do go over I'm going to ask for the oxblood lily bulbs as 'compensation', they had them all along the front of the house and used to mow them, even when they were in bloom.

I cannot imagine trying to be a landlord. That has to be one of the most difficult jobs ever. Can you imagine finding engine grease on the carpet? I cleaned a couple houses (back when I had a little company) where the people just let the animals use the entire house as a toilet. PJ

I worked in Real Estate for a bit doing rentals, what a horror! I had people steal the bathtubs! The toliet! The window frames! And it was always the best dressed, most polite professionals that did the worst damage. Now you have to worry about meth labs, crack dealers, child pornographers, etc. etc. etc.

Hope you get some lovely neighbors. Just go over and dig those oxblood lilies, I doubt if anyone even knows they are there. Just think of it as a rescue.

Tally you are such a renegade!!! LOL!
I saw the worst squalor on both "sides of the tracks". You'd think someone with bundles of money would pay someone to clean up after them if nothing else. They are usually too embarrassed to let anyone(even a housekeeper) see the mess tho. PJ
