| Well, it started raining on Thursday evening and rained all night, VERY HARD RAIN! Friday morning I poured out the 5+ inches of rain which had overflowed our rain gauge, so I don't know how much rain we got, and this morning I checked and it shows another 2.5" of rain. So it's hard to say, but yesterday on the 6:00 news, the airport (near us) had gotten almost 9" of rain, and then the 2.5" that we got over night brings us up to around 12". Some parts of the county got 12" just on Thursday night. It has rained so hard in the past 36 hours that my ceiling sprung a leak in the living room by the TV! Roofer said some nails must have rusted out! Imagine that will you?? Salt water and salt air does lots of damage. Anyway, after the raining stops and it dries up, they are coming back down to fix the roof. And then the ceiling gets fixed next. I have two holes in my ceiling now. It has rained so much and so hard. I still have buckets to catch the leaking water. Hope it stops sometime today. It's always something, i.e. drought or flood! Why not something in between? |
