OT: Anyone from Lubbock?

This is totally off topic, i.e., gardening, but in the past GW sites have helped.

My gd will be going to TX Tech for grad school in May. Which direction from TX Tech would be a safe environment to look for housing, N, E, S or W? This is her first time being away from home and we will miss her terribly. Thanks for any info.

Eloise, you may get more responses to this if you post it on the discussions page...................not everyone comes over here often. My daughter graduated from Tech, but things have changed a lot since then. Maybe someone will chime in with info.

Turns out one of the families at our church is originally from Lubbock, and they still have family there! My gd has now rented an apartment sort of south from TX Tech and we feel confident she will be fine.

I am glad someone could help you. Lubbock is really a pretty nice town, I just didn't care for the windstorms...LOL>

First thing I heard from a couple of people about Lubbock -- it's very flat and very windy. My gd will just have to endure, lol!

She will do fine, and may even find she likes it. The people are wonderful.
