Fire Ants & WD-40

Last week I ran out to "over-flow" fridge in detached garage and as I stepped on the metal thresh-hold fire ants came boiling out of the crack between it & cement ramp. They'd found the perfect home...a very wide spot about 12" high, protected from rain.

Quickly looked for something to kill 'em with & found nuthin! Out of deperation I grabbed a can of WD-40 & began to spray 'em...guess what??? They staggered, went in circles, stopped dead still & began to die! I gave a few squirts closer to the crack & FOUR queens came out so I sprayed even more.

I've checked several times since (stomping on the metal to vibrate it knowing they hate that!) and NO ants! From now on, I'll be carrying a can of WD-40 in my garden apron.

Just be careful - it will "burn" plants.

"And they don't squeak anymore" Hilarious!!
