You can't get rid of them. The web is getting more like TV every day. Pretty soon, it will also be more than 50% advertising content.

Do a little search for "Pop-up blockers" for your particular computer operating software/browser. I've installed one and seldom get the pop-ups, but all the banner stuff is still there: that's how they pay to maintain these sites for us to use!

It weeds out MOST of the pop-up ads but not all. You can't go anywhere without ads anymore. They are experimenting with one that mounts to the shopping cart and plays ads as you go by, there are sensors that trigger the ads. I can just see me now beating the shopping cart and yelling at it. I'll buy a lot less cause I'll refuse to use the carts. What about those ads that play constantly on little TV screens at the gas station? And the latest? Ads on the laptrays on planes!! That's just going way to far. Well, no the ads in bathrooms went too far. Let me pee in peace please.

They are even writing adds into the story lines of hit T.V. series. This weeks episode of "Bones" featured three cast members rotating in and out of an all night line to obtain tickets to the overly advertised movie "Avatar". I believe this may be the most advertised movie ever....Billy

Every time a better pop-up blocker comes along, they design irritating ads that can get around it. Dave's Garden subscribers can avoid ads entirely while on that site...so nice to have no ads!
