HAVE: 2014 Denton County Spring Plant Swap

melvalena

Sunday April 27, 2pm - 4-pm

Thanks to Gretchen Wood we have the use of her neighborhood club house again!

Indian Creek Clubhouse
1689 Bandera Drive
Carrollton 75010
Cross streets are Hebron Parkway and Hunt Drive.

Restroom & full kitchen inside the building.

Swapping happens in the parking lot. Eating happens inside the building.

Bring a snack to share and what ever you want to drink. We'll provide the paper goods and silverware.

If you want to be in on the "door prize" drawing bring a garden related thing (not a plant) and put a gift tag on it with your own name. We'll use the gift tags to draw names.

If this is your very first plant swap or you are a new gardener, you don't have to bring any plants. But you are encouraged to bring items you can trade with. (Candy, pots,
soaps, lotions anything you are willing to trade for plants)

Please be sure to tell everyone that this is your first swap or that you are a newbie to gardening and you will see how nice everyone is and how they make you feel right at home.

You can post your trades here in this thread.

Come check us out on our Meet Up Group, link down below.

Let the swapping begin!!!

I have no plants to swap this time :( I do have lots of pots various sizes and some yard art to swap. I need to fill in some bare spots in my yard. Last year I removed plenty of irises and am sure regretting it this year.

These are hybrids grown from Botanical Interest seeds if you'd like to look up info on them.
This is my first time to try hybrid Jalapeño's.

If so, I would love to trade for one at the swap. The liatris mucronata seeds and uruguayan firecracker plant (rooted cutting) are set aside with your name on them.

    Hi,

I have the following rooted cuttings to trade:
    Lady Banks roses (6) yellow
Cape Honeysuckle (4) shrub or rambler rather than a vine
Phillipine violets (2) not sure how well these have rooted

    Mum "country girl" (2)
Mum "thanksgiving day" (1) just in to root recently

    Seeds:
    blanket flower
pride of barbados (only a few)
    cardinal vine
    gazania
    moonflower
    bachelor's buttons
    hyacinth bean vine
    echinacea

seeds I bought this spring, and didn't need the entire pack:
    Wando peas
    amaranth
    standing cypress

    Things I like:
    anything old-fashioned
cottage garden or woodland garden plants
    herbs
old fashioned mums I don't have!
(I'm not much into succulents or cacti)

    Looking for plants of,

    Beaver Dam pepper
    Black Hungarian pepper

I have seeds but have planted twice now and still no seedlings.
Beaver Dam is one of my favorites. I've never had a problem growing it before but this year lots of my flower and pepper seeds just haven't germinated well.

    Hi everybody!

I am excited to get to know about this swap, thank you for bringing it to my attention. Unfortunately I wont be able to make it to the swap, and have a request for anyone who can share plants with me.
melvalena has generously offered to collect plants on my behalf. If you have anything to share, please leave them with her. I would love daylilies, iris, dwarf cannas, perennials, passion vine, clematis, coreopsis, -anything variegated or dark leaved, for full sun.

We recently moved locally and I lost my entire garden (and sun room and pool). Anyway, now I am in a newer neighborhood with no trees or shade, and a west facing backyard. I am hoping y'all will help me rebuild it.

    Thank you so much!

Hi! Can I come too? I'm getting back into gardening after a long hiatus and 2 kids :) . I don't have much-- I can pot up a few tiny basil seedlings (they don't have true leaves yet), and my aloe vera is making babies.

I also love to sew, so I was thinking of making a few simple gardening aprons to share if there is any interest. (are we mostly ladies here?)

I'd love to try the mums, daylilies and curry leaf plants if there are any left, and make a few friends in the process :) I'm also on the look out for any edible veggies/herbs
