HAVE: Waxahachie Plant Swap Saturday May 24

Here's the announcement that appeared in the Waxahachie Daily Light:

On Saturday, May 24, from 9 AM til noon, come to Brown Singleton Park (on Farley St just south of the 287 bypass), & trade your extra plants or other smallish garden-related items for plants etc!

This is the old-fashioned way that people brought variety to their gardens & the way that they brought plants with them when they moved west.

You can bring annuals, perennials, seeds, bulbs, pots, potting soil, magazines, garden art, just about anything, to offer to other gardeners in exchange for their extras.

(I know there'll be a bunch of lemon mint!)

Just take the Farley St exit off the 287 bypass & go south;

turn in at the parking lot & look to your left, near the trees.

The Farley St exit is about 4 exits east of the I35 exit & about 2 exits east of the Hwy 77 exit.

    don't think we had any gardenweb traders, but it was loads of fun, &
    a) we're gonna have another one in the autumn &
    b) I think I may have drummed up some 'business' for the FW Autumn Swap.

    & I am now officially glutted on irises:
    a woman brought me a plastic grocery bag bulging with the variety 'dark purple'!
    My fave!

    I'll try to pay attention to this forum in the fall.
