HAVE: Bamboo, roses, etc

1) Have: 7 beautiful clumps Alphonse Kerr each approx 1 ft across, one clump of what was sold to me as black bamboo, 2 feet across, 4 ft tall, not black.

Also:

20 assorted roses, mostly shrubs

5 Texas Sage

30 daylilies

1 dozen grapevines, with approx 5 gallons of grapes ready to be picked

12 assorted ornamental shrubs.

50 sweet potatoes ready to be dug if you want sweet potatoes.

In exchange for: About 2 hours or less weedeating and clearing, you bring weedeater. I want the gardens razed because I am trying to sell the house.

I am selling my home and moving to a smaller one, my weedeater died and it is too big of a job for me anyway.

2) Also have another exchange: I have a number of ornamental garden edging stones I need transported to the house I just moved into 10 miles away. You would need to provide vehicle and help load. In exchange I have about 40 treated 4x4 x8 feet long treated landscape timbers.

3) The back yard has two sections of chain link fence, gate, tops, and the poles were set with a very small bit of cement so they should be easy to pull up. Free.

Would very much like all this to be done this afternoon or tomorrow as my son is leaving for Austin on the weekend.

Sounds like it was a wonderful opportunity to get some great stuff in exchange for a little work. Did anybody take you up on it?

One person wrote after the yard guy was hired, and I was pretty upset by the reply of a local bamboo person who suggested that I could dig everything up and give it to her for her fundraiser and told me that my home would probably not sell anyway.
. I took my fave plants, and the yard person I hired when no one responded (in time) loves plants so at least a bunch got good homes. (In between the posting and the hiring of the nice yard guy, there was a garden agreement with a CL responder which is probably best left alone, lol.

The yard guy was happy, he got $300-$400 worth of really nice bamboo plants. He has a little left in the back yard to do and has his eye on some plants there, there are a few roses left back there I hope he takes. I gifted him with the wheelbarrow and other stuff and he is going to help me take care of the yard in the new place, so at least I found him, he seems like he is reliable and a real go getter and his biz partner does carpentry, so they are good people to know.
I've started putting in a garden on a much smaller scale already at the new place, so I feel good about that.

Thanks Lucille. Sounds like you got a good guy to help you out and one, who with his business partner, will come in handy for your new place.

I've always wondered what to do with the yard when the time comes that I can't take care of it; mainly what to do with the areas where the ornamental plants are removed and given away. Do we cover the area with bark mulch, pavers, or gravel, replace the roses, etc. with shrubs, replant grass, or what? As for now I've asked a good friend to be in charge if something happens to me and it's left to my non gardening hubby to deal with.
