Carrie's pond -- the rain made it possible

Carrie sent some photos of her pond my way and I was so enthralled by the peaceful scenes I wanted to share them with you.

Carrie said: "This is a wonderful year for the propertyâÂÂs looking good. The late rains have kept the grass green longer. All of this area gets no additional water in the summer, but it stays green a long time. My property is low and may have underground springs.

"We stocked the pond with catfish, bluegill and bass when we first had it dug in 1993â¦â¦â¦â¦.it got very low during the severe drought, never went completely dry as it has a spring in the deepest part, so donâÂÂt know how many survived. There are fish still in it though because the blue heron visits frequently."

Carrie says those are 'volunteer' hibiscus growing along the edges of the pond. Enjoy:

What I wouldn't give for a pond like this! Wonderful, eh?
