Texas Bluebells

Perylene

I've been waiting a long time for this to flower, so I thought I'd share it!

The seeds were sown on Jan. 2. This photo was taken on Jan. 22 -- the seedlings were still incredibly tiny.

Fast forward to now -- the first bloom opened this morning. That was quite a wait, but it was worth it!

More buds.

Texas bluebells are either an annual, perennial, or biennial depending on where it's grown. Considering how long it took to grow, I hope this plant sticks around for a while. The pollen on this first flower hasn't appeared yet, but I'm hoping to collect seeds for fall sowing. I have about eight plants randomly placed in my garden, but they're not all growing at the same rate, so I'm still testing out the best location.
