Here is the first bloom on my Hawaiian Sunset vine. It's about 3" across.

Here's the vine...

and here is a leaf, with my hand, for size comparison.

Woo-who! What a gorgeous plant. Leaves, great, bloom, terrific! Love those colors it has.

Zone 9-11. Drats.

Oh my goodness, that is a huge and beautiful flower! And look at the size of those leaves. Thanks for making a tropical plant lover's heart pant.

Jim those leaves are amazing and the flowers the icing on the cake. When did you plant it? And how large was it when you got it?

Hey Yall, thanks.

Pepa ~~ I planted it last fall. It had a hardwood stem, about 3 feet long, and two little leaves, near the base. It sulked all winter, not putting out any leaves at all. It did put out a few flower buds, but they fell off before opening. Then in mid April, it started new shoots, and has grown like Jack's bean stalk ever since. Some days, I train it twice a day. Now, if it will be as generous with the blooms as it is with leaves, I'll be a happy man. I plan on rooting some cuttings to take to the Mercer swap next fall.
