I had a "volunteer" sunflower this year, Kathy (not the bird seed variety), and have no idea from whence it came. It became very large, and I am now waiting for the seed head to ripen so I can pull it up. Yours are so pretty.

Kathy, they are both lovely, but I really love the second one. Do you know the name of it? We ordered and have already received two seed packets from Burpee. They are Solar Flare and Coconut Ice... both sunflowers. We have not planted them yet because we thought it was too late in the season to start them now.

1st is about 3 ft.
2nd about 51/2 ft.
I planted about 6 or 7 seeds and 4 came up. I am hoping to save seeds. Stay tuned. lol

I've bought pkgs of mixed sunflower seeds because the flowers looked so interesting, but never planted them. Now I wish I had. Yours are so pretty they're inspiring me to remember next spring to buy and plant some. Now that I've cleared some spaces I think I can find a place for them.
