Flame leaf sumac, why don't we have one? Did you find us some? I still haven't found one around here but I haven't been able to get to Barton Springs and they might have one.
I had to add to this post....when we lived in Drippin', they were all over on our property and I am ashamed to say, I took them for granted, : (

Jolana, I know what you mean. I used to have the pink Texas buckeyes growing wild in my back yard (we had an acre) and they were just weeds to me.

I have them suckering under an oak. The large one up the hill from me died in the drought.

Let's get one each this fall, I'm ready! I haven't even been to a nursery in months but right now it is too hot when I am not around as much

Well, I've got two of them now and the one planted in the ground last fall is doing GREAT! It's growing by leaps and bounds.. I'm hoping it flowers next spring.

Mara gave me some root spouts from her trees which leafed out this spring, but when I took them out of the pot to plant they had not grown any roots! So back in the pot they went until I see roots coming out the bottom, which should be soon as it's putting on lots of foliage.
