Forget Canna Pink Sunburst ...

According to this post on the GW canna forum I can forget about the 'ill-gotten' ;-) seeds of Pink Sunburst. They won't come true from seed. Oh well :-(

But it is nice that we can find out things like this on the various forums.

There are some pretty pictures of it on this thread:

Here is a link that might be useful: Canna Pink Sunburst is a Chimera

Battle of the sexes studies, human chimeras... the things we learn about on this board.

PS You might remember I offered to send a shovel so you could "borrow" some of the good stuff. ;)

Sorry, Roselee. However, I think you are going to sow that seed anyway..right?

Okay, I have been reading and reading online about this because I was pretty sure they would comeback variegated just not with the pink and/or maroon stripe. I have seen pics of them with leaves like a bengal. I would love that also.
So please try them anyway, please, lol

Well, seeds are for planting right? If that's all you've got that is -- since I didn't have that 'promised' shovel. All I got were battle of the sexes articles, but they didn't tell you how to apply chimeras. LOL

Canna seeds come up so quickly and easily I might not have to wait until spring to see if the leaves will be patterned. What do you think? Should I risk it and plant them now, bringing them indoors on a freezing day of course?
