That pot is an absolutely phenominal work of art. It's hard to imagine that it was carved out of stone. And even harder that someone carved such an almost optical illusion design during medeival times without modern tools. Thanks so much for showing it to us. If you have any more photos of these guy's work I'd love to see them. Ditto for any other pictures taken on the tour.

The pieces on the fence are beautiful too. I can't quite figure out what the streaks of light are. Maybe they are simply streaks of reflected light looking like angel trumpets ...

They carved it with old fashion iron chisels out of one chunk of limestone. I think that that is the only way to do this kind of work.. We have such amazing talent living amongst us. I worked with these people on a library back 12 years ago. This is small work for them. Their site is under construction.

The stone work on the back gates to Zilker Gardens is theirs. and the sea critters on the Long convention center, both in Austin.

If I could carve it, no one would be able to afford what I'd charge for it for that much work!

As with all artist, they can not afford their own work. They work for a small and ever shrinking segment of society. At present they are doing a garage door that could grace a major cathedral. Its a little much with two lions with two keys under an umbrella caved in a gothic curved door. The whole thing is about 20" tall. it is at design phase right now. I will slink back to see it later as it progresses.
