I`ve bought the roots at Home Depot and Lowes the past couple of years. I bought whatever kinds they had and the purple one. All have done great here and I get a good crop every year. Plan to buy some more this year to fill in a few spots.

You could take a division of the roots of their plant to get the exact same variety.

You should have no problems growing it there. The main thing to is get the bed perpared right before you plant it. When I planted mine I dug a trench about 2' deep and then filled about half of it in with composted cow manure from my barn. I then placed the roots and filled the trench back in with a mixture of the manure and the original soil and they grew like crazy. I just got mine from HD when they were getting rid of them for the year. I wasn't sure if they would even grow but everyone of them came up and grew.
