It looks like nandina to me.

Looks like nandina to me too. Many varieties of nandina are available and are very common in gardens. I love it since it grows well in my caliche soil conditions, is drought tolerant, evergreen, and has white flowers and colorful berries. It's originally from China and also called "Heavenly Bamboo". Many people dislike it and consider it invasive since as you've observed it will spread itself around to wild areas.

Nandina was my guess too...but at this distance I really wasn't sure.

It's listed as an invasive species in all southeastern states plus Texas.
