Can you identify?

My sister sent this to me in hopes of identifying this plant that is growing in her yard in South Texas. Her nursery guy doesn't recognize it but says it is probably in the sumac family. She writes that it first has green leaves, then little purple flowers all over, then red berries, followed with purple leaves.

I have looked in all my plant books and searched the internet and can find nothing with that leaf shape in sumacs. Anyone recognize the little bush? I will plant the seeds in the Spring and see if they will germinate.
