Is your greenhouse heated?

From what I've read, cosmos do best direct sowed once it warms up.

Daisies should do just fine in your greenhouse, heated or not.

Seeds are funny things, sometimes you have to use fresh and sometimes they'll store a long time. Depends on the seed and how they are stored.

Some seeds will lay dormant in the soil for years and when conditions are just right they'll sprout.

I have a small area in the greenhouse that is heated, this is curtained off at night with tarps and lights. It rarely goes below 45 Degrees even with the coldest weather we've had so far....around 28 for one night.

My daughter purchased most of these to plant at her business and didn't get all planted. Gave them to me last year and I didn't get them planted either. Since we have so many, and I mean A LOT..I thought I'd try all different ways. I went ahead and planted in 6 paks for the greenhouse.

Will start winter sowing some of them this week. And plant the rest in March or April...or whatever they say on the packages.

I planted cosmos in recycled 4" pots last spring and they all sprouted and did fine when I transplanted them...until all but one died from lack of water. The last one bloomed again in the fall up until a freeze killed it.

Thanks again, I went ahead and planted a bunch of comos, sweet peas, and some daisies in flats in the greenhouse.

Still have LOTS left to winter sow and direct sow.

Hopefully, we won't have the drought problem again this year, but.....

With it running 72 degrees today, all bets are off what's to come.
