So does my garden. The greens are going crazy. The chard and Japanese mustard look like a magazine photo. I am being invited to parteis on the contingency that I bering the salad. I have been working working coir and bentonite into my soils to increase water retention and building on my house outdoors so we are loving it.

My winter weeds are getting pulled today! Then I need to get some good stuff put down on the beds. Hope these gorgeous days keep coming, but I know it's too good to last long. I hear rain's in the forecast for tomorrow, but that's good too. Lou

Weeds are coming into beds and yard rampantly. Need to stay focused and keep them in control.

But I also see the poppies, bluebonnets and larkspur seedlings popping up!

Next year I think I'll try to sow them much earlier than Thanksgiving. I think it might make weeding much easier.

After the forecasted rain weeding should be easier, right? :) Yes.. lets put that chore off for some other day!

I once had a friend tell me that if I planted poppies they would take over. Well that would be nice as they come and go before the rest of my flowers come into bloom. Nice thing about weeds this time of the year the soil is moist and they come up a lot easier than they will later. Because of the forecast of this coming rain I transplanted some of my Saint Joseph Amaryllis to fill in some blank spots in my front flower bed. I use to have larkspurs but now they are no longer in this flower bed as when I moved I seem to have lost them. My purple poppies do just fine each year. They came from a package of "Red Poppy seeds" I bought a few years back, but no red poppies bloomed. I love this website as it is always nice to hear how ours are doing in their gardens.
