What is "silk"? Gallardia is a shrub, right? This looks like a flower.

Silk flowers are like the ones for sale at Hobby Lobby, they are not real. Zooming in on your photo, and looking closely at the leaves, convinces me that Roselee is correct, your flowers are silk. There is a lady in our neighborhood, who's whole landscape is done in silk flowers and plastic shrubs.

Try to pinch off a piece of leaf.

Sh**. You guys are right, it did not even occur to me that there is such possibility. Yes it's fake flower. Excelent quality though since it fooled me for sure.

Driving by an office building once on a cold February day I saw a beautiful rose bush with big pink blooms. I parked and got out to inspect this marvelous variety of rose that bloomed in winter and found that someone had wired silk roses (polyester actually) to the rose bush! It sure fooled me. Like Jim's neighbor I feel like doing that myself sometimes ... LOL.

I don'tâ¦.after month, they look awful when faded and god, the bang for your buck is questionable , but then one does not have to water. I guess I am just a purist snob under my dirty patina. I would rather buy gorgeous rocks and arrange them.
