I`m so tired of this weather! I brought in a couple of plants here on the island but I`m working so the rest are on their own. Shrimp plant will get nipped but it will come back, Indian hawthorn and the ferns should be fine. Azaleas are pretty hardy-they grow all the way to Dallas and beyond with no protection.

Even here in North Texas the shrimp plant will return in the Spring even with prolonged freezing temps. I think all the plants you mentioned should be fine for a short term freeze.

I agree with Carrie.. everything you mentioned will be fine. You don't even need to cover them. I grow all of them with no protection at all.

You may lose some leaves but the plants will make more when it warms back up.

Our shrimp plants, unless in a sheltered location, will most of the time die to the ground but re grow come spring.

Watering everything ahead of time should be all you need to do.
