No, I've never grown tropical hibiscus from seed. Do you have anymore coming along to surprise you?

I have quite a few tropical hibiscus plants. I started some each of the past two winters. Right now, this is the only one that is blooming. I've included some pictures of a few of my other ones.

Thats a beautiful flower! Were the seeds from your own cross or did you by them? I wouldnt be surprised if you get bombarded with cutting requests

How do you get tropical hibiscus to bloom like that? Mine has only ever had 1 bloom at a time :(

These were seeds I bought from a private hybridizer. The fun part is you never know what the flower is going to look like when doing crosses. The topmost photo is the most colorful of the seeds I have started so far. I still have a couple of plants that haven't bloomed yet, so we'll see if they'll surpass this one! My intention is to start trying my own crosses to see what comes from them. However, I've only successfully had plants produce seed during the winter as the summer heat seem to prevent successful pollination.

pinkpearls--tropical hibiscus varieties vary a lot in their blooming habits. I have a plain red one that blooms like mad while some of the others shown above are 1-2 flowers at a time.
