There is an article in todays Bryan Eagle about how to start wisteria. It has some good points.

There is one at our farm and it's positively gorgeous in bloom. I haven't tried rooting any cuttings but I can send you some seed from the pods it makes this spring. If you don't find one before then, just email me. Here is a picture of some of the blooms on mine.

That is absolutely gorgeous, is it at all invasive???

RE: white wisteria?

It does make a very few runners that run on top of the ground and they don't seem to take root as easily as the purple. I just cut the runners off whenever I see one, which is rarely. It is easily controlled in my yard, so I wouldn't call it invasive. It appears to have been there many years before we bought our farm 5 years ago. The farm had been neglected and the purple ones had spread everywhere, but this is the only white one there. I also clip off the blooms as they loose their petals to prevent seed pod formation

East Texas, Lufkin. I haven't tried from seeds. I do know that the purples take a couple of years to bloom when started from seeds.
