Hi roxiiq! Welcome to the Texas Forum. If you scroll down a bit you will see a post titled "Top Dressing the Lawn" that might contain some information you can use. It's a little work and expense, but you can have a nice lawn.

We plugged in Floratam St. Augustine in our back yard a couple of years ago and it is doing GREAT!

Or you can do what a lot of folks are doing nowadays and take up the grass and put down gravel. We did this several years ago in the front yard. You leave some shrubs, and/or place a few drought tolerant plants here and there, and it looks quite nice and sure saves on water.

If your 'clover' has little yellow flowers and grows in a sprawling rosette, then it is a type of grass burr and you will want to pull it all up before it goes to seed.

If the clover has pinkish purple flowers and has tiny individual stems that come up from a tiny bulb, then you have oxalis and that is a seasonal wildflower that can co-exist with your grass.
