I just received this email from the San Antonio Botanical Garden. Things should be looking really good at the gardens by mid-March. They will save your plants for you if you want to stroll around the gardens a bit before picking them up:

"It's hard to believe, but winter's almost over, and it's time for the plant sales to begin at the Botanical Garden. Given last year's dry weather, among this year's offerings are a lot of new Texas natives which can cope well with drought. And of course we have a large assortment of other neat plants that are looking great in the greenhouse.

"Our first plant sale is the Spring Break Sale, which runs 5 days (Mar. 12-16, 9am-1pm). A flyer describing the sale is below."
