Pros/Cons of bush germander?

Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with bush germander (Teucrium fruticans) - especially in north Texas? Shows up regularly as a recommendation for central Texas and as an alternative to berried nandinas on some invasives lists.

I bought one on a whim during a visit to Austin and am trying to figure out a good spot for it. Thought it would work in a 4 ft diameter space, but have since seen some places saying it actually needs 6 ft. Can it be kept looking fairly natural (versus a manicured ball) in only a 4 ft area? TIA

Here is a link that might be useful: Plant of the Week: Teucrium fruticans
