We have beautiful grass but this year it got bit. The outside is brown but you can see lots of green inside. I can't decide if we should cut it back or just wait and see.
Has anyone been had a simular experience? |

I use to have to cut it back every winter to keep it looking good. After a string of harsh winters I dug it out and got rid of it. I was tired of bloody arms. It came back but it got bigger and bigger and more of a mess every year, And then it started dyeing in the center and growing with a hollow spot. I hated my pampas grass when I finally got rid of it. 2 TRUCK LOADS!!!!!!

I have no intention of getting rid of it, it is really big and beautiful. We had one that died in the center. My hubby took a hoe and dug out the center and it grew back to a full plant in just a couple of months.

I love my pampas grass, and trim only what needs to be trimmed to keep it looking good. I, too, have "pulled" out the spots that die off, and it fills in quickly. I, personally, would have a wait and see approach ...same amount of work now as later.

Good advice Carrie. Thanks, I think that is the answer.
