| Hi everyone!
So...turns out I ordered the wrong type of lettuce to try to grow in Texas. I chose this one because it's my favorite...and it never occured to me (cause I'm a newbie) that it may not grow well here. So...I've planted quite a few iceburg lettuce plants--some of which are doing well but it's only been since the end of January. A few of them are working on their 2nd leaf. I have tried to be really optimistic and hope that I can beat the odds but, its just starting to hit home that these plants will never give me anything. So, I'm back to square one, with my lettuce anyway. I do have some tomatoes and broccoli that I just started in containers yesterday. I hope these turn out to be a good variety for our unpredictable Texas weather. Can anyone recommend a good lettuce to grow? One that matures quickly would be great---cause I'm sort of impatient :) Thanks everyone!!! |

| Crawford lettuce is good. You can still plant it. The link below tells about it and the last sentence tells how to get seeds for $2.00 and a SASE. Some people recently reported on the Texas exchange forum that they recenved their seeds very quickly. |
