I think daylily growers love to attempt to convert iris, amaryllis, hibiscus, plumeria, and rose lovers over to growing daylilies. Sometimes we succeed and sometimes we just add another addiction. Daylilies are easy to grow and fun to share when they grow into a clump. If I had one tip to offer a daylily lover and grower is to water, water, water before blooms start. After that you can ease up some but daylilies love water when they are forming scapes and buds. I'd also advise everybody to attend a local daylily show and sale. It's so much fun to see all the exotics and latest and greatest along with some old favorites. And it's FREE!!! Of course you could always go home with an arm load of daylilies from a club's local sale - or you go to a daylily farm and do the same thing. Be sure to make time on your gardening schedule to attend a local show and sale or farm this bloom season. You won't believe you eyes!!!!
