I've had several people ask for directions to the plant swap and it's a good thing they didn't map it on the internet because both mapquest and yahoo maps have it wrong. They both say to take Thousand Oaks to Yvonne Dr. but Thousand Oaks is a deadend street.

From 820 in Ft. Worth you turn onto I-35W south, head south and stay on I-35W until you see the Hwy 174 Cleburne exit. This will be in Burleson. Head south on Hwy 174 (which is also called Wilshire Blvd) until you come to Joshua. When you come up a small hill, you’ll see an Assembly of God church on the right. In front of the church is Main St. Take Main St. and go three streets down to Yvonne Dr. It’s the 7th house on the left 1011 Yvonne Dr. Look for the birdhouse mailbox. I have a question. I'm new to this and gardening in general. I am trying to start a container garden on my terrace. But I don't have much to start with. So I wont' be bringing anything to the swap. Will there be any generous givers for a beginner?

It was so nice to come home from the fall plant swap with so many plants and I want to say that it was the most fun time I've had.

You gardeners are a riot.

Most of us would rather pot up and tote our babies to a swap in order to give them a good home than throw them away.

Of course some people bring stuff to trade, but some just bring to give.

I bring to give/pass on, since so many people were so nice to me in the beginning with advice and plants to get me started. As our gardens evolve we change things or give up on certain things, or find out we'd rather have something else in that place.
After so much time and energy involved we just can't 'throw them away'.

There are always lots of generous people at the plant swap. You should take home lots of plants to help you get started.

A lot of the club members will be there, as well as some of the Johnson County Master Gardeners.

We have 40 club members so this should be a really good show!!!

Someone brought some pond plants at the last spring swap but I forgot who it was.

Oh that canna sounds pretty.

Does anyone want any Blue Star Creeper? I had a hard time finding it. My friend Terry ordered hers and I saw it and had to have some. I finally found some in a big nursery in Arkansas.

I only live about 5 blocks from the swap, so I should be able to run home, put the plants in the ground, and then hurry up and wait! ha!

I told him about all your maters and he ask if you have any heirlooms that produce the big ones.

I'd like a canna. I have mostly yellow cannas and tropicanas.

txtomato was looking for a dwarf canna but I forgot the name. Do you happen to have any dwarf cannas?

One of my friends grandmothers has a big over grown yard with lots of plants and she said we can come there and dig up lots of plants.

She really needs us to do this so she can have more room. It is very overcrowded.

That sounds like fun to be able to dig up plants.

Does anyone want some Purple Passion Vine?

It's annoying!!

I got a start of a purple passion vine that's evergreen and it has over tripled since I planted it last year.
The other one I have grows very fast but it always dies back in winter.

Carolann, I'd be interested in some of that purple passion vine.

I'll do a search and see if I can figure out what they are called. They may not in fact be dwarf cannas. I do know they are short and look like cannas. :) Less than 3 ft tall, More like 24 inches tall. They get full sun.

We can still list what we're bringing on here if we want to.

I'm looking for a Lime Zinger Elephant Ear if anyone has one please let me know.

Terry is bringing some Blue Star Creeper for the Round Robin Game.
It's a pretty ground cover that's good to use in stone paths and it's hard to find around here. In fact I think impossible.

I have a big pot of the yesterday today and tomorrow. I was planning on bringing the pot to the swap.

I've had it for several years but thought I had to bring it in for the winter. I keep dragging it in and out. Under these conditions it doesn't flower much. It has one open flower on it now.

I am selling my house so I'd rather pass it on to someone who wants it and will take care of it, in case I want cuttings from it later.

I'll let you guys duke it out over who gets the pot. :)
But maybe we could each take cuttings from it and put the pot in the round robin afterwards? Or have a drawing among those who actually want it? Doesn't matter to me who gets it so long as later down the line, I can get cuttings for my new garden.

How do you guys want the drama to play out?
Mud wrestling, plant rustling, threats, bribes? other ideas?

PJ, this is a Native Texas plant. It was born from a tiny wee bulb and grew up in Texas.

I'm at my DDS house in Speegoville and she just had minor surgery but is doing great. She has tons of plants and she wants me to dig some up for her to take to the plant swap. She has Blue Mist and lots of other plants.

We'll have a really good swap this year. Lots of goodies.

I have some purple ones but I love blue and I have a post just begging for it.

I can't find my Broken Colors 4 O'clocks. I think my old fashioned phlox grew like crazy and it got burried.

Just in case I don't find it buy next Saturday I went out and bought some seeds. They are very easy to propagate.
