Yvonne's Salvia

I posted a thread on Yvuoone's seeds in the Winter Sowing forum to see if I can get some seeds. I was able to find someone who had some. There was a discussion on how the Yvonne's salvia does in the TX heat. I am extending that discussion to our forum to see what kind of results some of you may have had. Please share.

Here is a link that might be useful: Yvonne's seeds thread from WS Forum

My experience has not been good trying to grow this beautiful plant. I obtained seeds and started trying to grow this right after I read the article on Yvonne in Birds and Blooms extra (2007, I believe). I never got one plant to bloom and they would just fade away in the heat. I have a gardening friend in Seattle who has been growing them since that time (we obtained seeds from the same source), and I can tell you that his are breathtaking. All this to say, I really think you will find it difficult, if not impossible, to grow them successfully in our heat.
