keyhole gardens, anyone? biochar source?

March/April Texas Gardener has an article about keyhole gardens, which are raised beds in a special formation that allows for increased production along with lesser water usage. Is anyone doing this? Does anyone know a source of biochar near dfw to put in a garden area such as this? Totally off topic of keyhole gardens, but it occurs biochar might be a good, additional thing here.

We have 3 keyholes. We are close to Clifton,Tx so Deb is a great friend. These are the only way to garden in drought regions. The key is packing them thick. No weeds and the foliage keeps the soil moist. We built ours from bricks we had. I'm 6' so my husband made them waist high. So easy to garden in. No critters. We used to get bothered by armadillos and raccoons. No more. We put row covers on in the heat of the summer and the plants do so well.
