Depends on why you want it.

a) If you only want the foliage for cooking, then clipping the flowers will probably promote more plant growth.
b) If you want lots & it spreads by seed, then you'll want it to flower.

I bought it for the herb value. However, it seems to be thriving with very little water and I think I'd like to have a couple of transplants for some problem areas and see how they do. I have no idea how big it will get, no info on the pot sticker. I didn't know it would survive the winter either.

Funny, but I've never noticed my particular culiinary sage blooming. It has roundish very rough textured leaves. But other varieties that also have culinary uses have beautiful blooms that I'd be hesitant to cut off. Sage is such a strong plant I don't think leaving the blooms would set it back much.

Yes! My edible sage is now covered in light purple flowers. I will let it bloom. I have tons of dried sage in my pantry.

My culenary sage, S. officinales var biergarten blooms every year and makes lots of sage. It is a big plant.
