Is it safe to unwrap my Crepe Myrtles yet?

I have two, two year old Crepes that froze to the ground last year. Pecos and Zuni, so this year I put a little wire fence around them and stuffed full of straw. How long do you think I should wait before I remove the straw. Both are good for zone 6. Debra

Have they budded out yet?

I'm not in your zone, are you past your last average freeze date yet?

Do crepe myrtles usually freeze to the ground in your area? Ours lose their leaves but most everything comes back to life a little later in the spring.

I wouldn't do it yet. I heard there will be one more freeze for our northern counties so you are probably not safe yet.
