It may be wild mustard. Pretty, but it is an invader and might take over our native wild flowers. I guess there is no stopping it now -- if there ever was a chance of eliminating it..

There is a lot of wild mustard all around here this year too.

Just got home from pulling, bagging and trashing every bit of that bady boy we could find from the parking areas around the Heard.

Google the common name and find the video from the LBJ Wildflower center about it. It's huge winter rosettes shade out all the rosettes from the native wildflowers.

The current saying is "Hello B_____ Cabbage, goodbye bluebonnets"

I am pulling as fast as I can..............thought I kept in under control last season, but obviously I let a few escape. Pull it while it is small, preferably, as those roots go deep.

I was afraid of that. It is pretty, but really a threat to the diverse wild flowers one used to see. Still lots of blue bonnets on my drive, but this is disturbing. Hate to see the blue bonnets go the way of the "horny toad" as we used to call them. I miss those guys. Hmmm, maybe a future Eagle Scout project for my life scout? Something needs to be done. Ideas?
