I have grown the donkey tail spurge, Euphorbia myrsinites and loved it. It will drape nicely over the container and would look great with something spiky and upright. I did not like the flowers. Mine was in a 3-4 hour morning sun location and I had it in a huge container. I don't remember what caused it's demise but it may have been caused by an aggressive trimming when it got too leggy. It was beautiful for several years.

I got a donkey tail spurge last spring and planted it in a large container which is in full sun all afternoon. It must love the location, because this year it has spread over nearly the whole top of the large container and I noticed that one or two are beginning to drop over the side. I cannot believe how large it has grown in just one year.

I might put the upright euphorbia and the dnkey tail together in the more sunny planter. Did you leave yours outside during winter?

I could also plant donkey tail in full blazing sun near the curb where I will plant lots of zinnias. It will get dry and will get hot....any thoughts? thanks again c

It's a beautiful plant! Just be careful not to get any sap on your skin. Check it out on D's garden.

I always left the donkey tail out all winter, it even stays green. You might want to check the requirements of the other euphorbia though.

I think I might plant it in a spot I call the sahara, west facing and concrete bounded. Or, might put it under my Magnolia with succulents. It is an interesting plant, but don't want to put it in a planter that is easy to touch....grins.
