Squirrels or bunnies probably. Can you make a chicken wire cage for the raised garden?

I used to sit and watch the squirrels sitting there, eating them. They take a couple bites and then toss it aside and then grab another.

I would guess slugs or worms.

Pill bugs eat holes in mine.

Looks like a rodent to me. The chicken wire fence/cage idea is probably the best bet. You could also try something like rabbit scram, but I've never used it and therefore can't vouch for it.

Mine look the same. My husband thinks it's rats or mice. I thought it was birds. Not sure if chicken wire would keep out mice. I need to try it too, though.

I say birds, mockingbirds, I planted strawberries a few years ago and would be sitting on the porch and a mocking bird would swoop down and take one bite and be done!

Mockybirds, in our patch--I've seen them. I love strawberrries, but I'm happy to overlook a few bites from the white winged clowns.

It definitely looks like bird damage. Can you put a net around the plants?

I have a plastic owl in my patch, and have not seen a bird there at all. You might try this as it would be easier than the netting.

Something to consider (particularly if the culprit is birds)...try planting a mulberry tree somewhere else (not near the strawberries). It should be ripe with mulberries right about the same time as the strawberries are ready and would give them a more attractive alternative. You might also plant other wild berries like wild raspberries.
Also might make sure they have plenty of water or otherwise they'll be attracted to the fruit for its water content too. This works especially well around tomato plants. In my experience, if they have plenty to eat and drink they will not be as attracted to your crops.
