what are these?

found these creatures all over my jalape�o plants this morning? please tell me what they are and how to remove them quickly and safely...killed as many as I could

Roselee said you have to use a magnifying glass to see chili thrips.

They look like aphids to me. You can run your gloved (or ungloved) hand along the leaves and stems and kill a lot of them. Also a hard blast of water while holding the tip of the plant will knock most of them off. They can't climb back. Spraying with neem oil will kill them also.
