I've got two Black & Blue Salvia guaranitica clumps that are already getting bushy and pushing their flowering spikes, but I'm in the southern DFW area so you make want to take that observation with a grain of salt. I first noticed this year's new growth about three weeks ago.

On the other hand, my Indigo Spires salvia is just now starting to sprout some shoots. I considered pulling it last week, so I'm glad I waited.

All of my salvias are doing well, Pam and the black and blue is beginning to bloom (well, the ones in full sun), but my brugs are very slow. I had some already sprouted before the April 14th freeze, and it didn't seem to hurt them, but even my Dr. Seuss has not sprouted as yet and I am beginning to be a bit concerned as well.

I'm not pulling anything yet, but this is really late! Usually my black and blue is blooming before the Crape myrtles leaf out but the trees seem early this year...wacko :-)

The crepes do seem early. The roadside indian blankets were out in some areas in March, that was really wacko to me

Argentine Skiesboth Sal Guaranticas are about 18 inches tall. Cone flowers are starting to bloom.

Lantana are way behind. Some that I transplanted late fall are not making it. Durantas are only about 2 inches tall but finally coming back. Hardy hibiscus Luna is about 3 inches tall. Confederate rose is about the same.

I drug all my brugs in for the winter and those cuttings or even those from roots are really slow even in full sun and brown pots and fertilizer. I think the brugs took this weather personally! c
