What shrub/tree is this? Pics included

This is a small tree/shrub that has been growing in my backyard for the last three years. It is in growing right next to my large rose bush and is getting a similar light schedule, 8+ hours a day. It recently put out these large elaborate white blooms and I figured these would really help in ID'ing this plant. Thanks so much!

Althea aka rose of sharon.
They are very hardy here in SA. I have one that a friend in your area sent me a cutting about 5 years or so ago it is a double lavendar "ish".

They're hardy up here, too. I planted one last spring and it managed to get established even with me forgetting that I needed to give it extra water! I think it's cold hardy for a few zones north of us, too.

I have one of the lavender ones and I have been surprised at how the birds love it! The hummers come drink at the flowers and the finches eat the seeds! Mine has gotten 10' tall and is drought tolerant.
