Dwarf Cara Cara orange tree

I picked up a dwarf cara cara orange tree at Archie's a few months ago and then realized I have no idea how to care for this tree. I was drawn in by it's gorgeous, highly fragrant orange blossoms. I planted it in a pot about 24" wide, the tree is about 3' tall right now.

Once it warmed up and I put the container on my patio, the blossoms all fell off and it didn't form any fruit. Not even early beginnings of fruit. The tree currently still has all its leaves and they're a nice deep shade of green but they are starting to curl a bit. Are there any tips for caring for this kind of tree in DFW? Should I try to amend a spot in the yard for it or would it thrive/produce in a container? I'd also appreciate any recs for an online resource about growing fruit trees in N Tx. TIA!
