Did Shoestring Acacia trees survive last winter in Austin?

Not being about to find even a trace of hope on getting a Palo verde 'desert museum' locally I purchased a beautiful Acacia stenophylla, aka 'shoe string acacia'.

The internet says they are good only down to 18 degrees, but I've seen several blog photos showing them growing in Austin.

Does anyone know if they survived last winter's low temps? Anyone is San Antonio grow it? My plant can be returned if they've proven too tender for our climate.

Here is a link that might be useful: Several gardens with Acacia stenophylla on 'Digging'
