queenb, I have a tree with the exact same leaves that just showed up in my yard years ago, it gets tons of white flowers in the spring, I don't have the SLIGHTEST idea of what it is, and noone else does either!! My neighbor from Mexico says it's not a Mexican Plum...

I did have an ornamental plum growing about 15 feet away years ago, it finally died, wonder if that had anything to do with it. No fruit, and I keep it pretty trimmed and use as strictly an ornamental. It does get suckers which keeps me busy, do you get those?

I looked up Mexican plum in the past, and no, it's definitely not that. This tree doesn't really sucker from what I can tell, since I've only had the two shoots, one off the old main trunk, and one about two feet in front of it, and nothing more. I seriously doubt that it's any kind of cultivar or ornamental, since we were the first people to live on this property, and there is no house across the street from me, and the neighbors are recently established on both sides of me. I live in a very rural subdivision, so I'm thinking whatever it is, it's definitely got to be native.

I'm thinking it may be P. umbellata. I'm really iffy on this, but it's the only one that seems makes sense. I just wish it would fruit!
