| Has anybody tried growing root beer plant, Piper auritum, in a 12 or 15 gal. pot? I'm wondering if it will get root bound very quickly and wilt. I love the big leaves with their root beer scent, but it spreads so badly I took it out of the ground some time ago, but a friend has some she will give me for a fresh start in a pot. |

| Well, guess I'll be the experimenter in this case. I planted it and we'll see what happens. I'm a glutten for punishment I guess because when my neighbor Georgianne brought some Mexican hydrangea over to help her divide and repot it she left some here and I planted it of course. But first I lined a whole huge pot with aluminum screen wire to keep it from escaping from the holes in the bottom of the pot like it did before. I love both these plants, but they do like to run around the yard first chance they get. |
